CHSP Services Eligibility
How do you apply?
If you are an older person and would like to refer yourself, or you seeking a service for the first time, you can apply through the Commonwealth Government gateway, ‘My Aged Care’.
Eligibility is determined on the basis of age (65 years or over, or 50 years if of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent) and your need for assistance with living independently at home.
My Aged Care will register you over the phone and in most cases, arrange a more detailed face to face assessment.
When registering you will be given the opportunity to choose who provides your services and you can then nominate The Gleam Team as your preferred domestic duties support provider.

Assessment of needs criteria apply:
- Generally, persons who are eligible for CHSP Services are living in the community and who, in the absence of support services are at risk of premature or inappropriate long-term residential care.
- In the age group of 65+
- Frail or at risk aged persons
- Living alone or isolated
- Persons who demonstrate additional “special needs” have a higher priority to access CHSP services i.e. non-English speaking background, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders and financially disadvantaged
